Freestyle, Freestyle Timba and Class Bespoke offer exciting acoustic absorption for Office Principles latest project

Steris -Office Principles

Soundtect Oak Timba baffles were chosen along with the standard Freestyle baffles  for the acoustic treatment on this project which sat alongside our Grey fabric Class Bespoke panels in the reception area, both offering superb high quality sound absorption for this project.

Leading medical equipment supplier, Steris wanted to move to a new address in Basingstoke. The company’s lease was due to expire on its existing accommodation and it was keen to merge two offices as a cost-saving exercise.

Steris had found a new location and was looking for a fit out partner that could undertake a fast-track project. The requirement was to follow a basic blueprint, running in line with the company’s other fit outs that had been previously completed in-house. Office Principles had provided consultancy services in the past and was invited to join at the competitive tender stage.

Having successfully demonstrated an understanding of Steris’s vision, Office Principles was awarded the contract with the brief to manage a quick turnaround.

The Covid-19 pandemic broke in the middle of the project and we were tasked with providing quick solutions as various supply chains ground to a halt. We worked closely with the client, undertaking weekend and evening work to ensure the speediest of deliveries given the issues we were faced with.

Overview

Work included the fit out of a café, a front of house area with a flexible training suite, a break out area to be used for town halls and informal meetings, secondary air conditioning, new flooring, additional power and data, the installation of storage and the fitting of desks, booths and benches.

Agile areas supported one to one desking while also providing alternative ways of working with high back benches and high level work benches.

Project completion

The design had to fit with global corporate standards and so good communication was key to ensure that these standards were met and to reassure the client throughout the process.

Although Steris was specific about certain colours, the break out area was off brand and the client was delighted with the result.

“We had worked with Steris at a consultancy level for some time but this was our first fit out and our over-riding concern was to get it right given that it was a major step for the client to outsource this project. As timing was so important, we made sure that our updates were frequent and regular. Transparency was critical as we were working in unprecedented times at the height of lockdown.”
