Soundtect began in 2010. The company was formed to reduce the amount of post-consumer PET going into landfills and find a sustainable solution to the ever-growing problem of reverberated sound. By using the recycled content, which started life as PET bottles before being transformed into carpets for the exhibition industry, which naturally had a very short shelf life, Soundtect has managed to utilise this waste effectively and sustainably to create not one but two solutions, the first being the reduction of commercial plastic waste heading into landfill and the second, which is to massively reduce noise in the commercial and education environments, which has resulted from the changing trends in modern design.
Our products
Our acoustic panels are third generation products which began life as plastic bottles. The PET bottles are then turned into exhibition carpets. Once that short-term lifespan is over, we carefully relayer the carpet fibres to create the felt panels. Therefore the panels are made from 70% recycled content.
As non-toxic recycled plastic, there are very few allergens and our products are guaranteed to be hypoallergenic and non-toxic. Our in-depth Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) testing and analysis demonstrates that there are no toxic materials in the products. These test results are available on request.
Our business, which now supplies award-winning acoustic panels across the world, is built on the very foundations of the circular economy. We manufacture, design and install acoustic panels. We also have stock held at key sites meaning we reduce the environmental impact on fulfilling individual orders.
